For this week’s episode we go back to 1979, a.k.a. “The Last Days Of Disco”. In the slipstream of Giorgio Moroder and Donna Summer, Eurodisco went global. The main suppliers were France, Germany and Italy. Not my home country, Belgium. Our moment in the “limelight” would come much later with the New Beat craze. But still, we had some great productions that made it stateside. One of them was “Moscow Discow” by Telex, the subject of this weeks episode !

When researching the story behind a new 12 inch, I usually stop by ChatGPT. I’m always curious what ChatGPT has to say about a niche subject like twelve inches released between 1977 & 1993. One of the problems of the current AI chatbots is that they (sometimes) just make up the info. It was only a matter of time before I would get to see the first example of this hallucination. Well ChatGPT did not let me down this week. So let’s start with my remarkable conversation on Telex and Belgian disco 😁.
