Late last year Arthur Baker started releasing a new compilation series called “Dance Masters”. Each release compiles the best remixes of 1 of the big remixers of the eighties. He started with Shep Pettibone and reserved the second volume for his own work. From the moment Edsel (the record label) announced the series, everybody interested, knew that an Arthur Baker volume was in the making. The social media platforms were brimming with lists of tracks that had to be included. Top of most of those list is/was the twelve inch we are discussing this week : “Too Much Blood” by The Rolling Stones.

Why ? Well, the Arthur Baker remixes for this Rolling Stones track are considered to be among his finest and up to now they were not included on any of the compilations/boxsets of The Rolling Stones. For instance :“The Singles 1971-2006” contains all the twelve inch versions of the singles, released in this period. All but 1 : “Too Much Blood”.
