Love your responses to Andy's questions! The B-52s are right up there for me too. I've seen them several times and they never fail to be fun and entertaining.
I think of you so much as the "dance music" writer that I never thought I see you mention a classical album! Good for you!
Thank you so much for your kind words! I was soooo hoping you would accept the challenge and was bummed when I thought you weren't going to! I so wanted to read your responses. You are WAY too much fun, Pe, and I'm here for it! ππ»ππ»ππ» I loved reading about your childhood, your music discoveries and how they intertwine with your life and life wisdom. I hope you have a great weekend! Thanks again!
Itβs been a busy couple of weeks, and Iβve fallen a bit behind on my reading here, so I had to push it to the weekend. Iβd never let something like this slip π Too much fun. Thanks for reading, Andy β and have a great weekend!
My first record player was a toy called close and play, took 2 out of my neighbors trash. I agree with this guy about writing, or playing what YOU want, not what others wanted. Thatβs a very important box that needs to be checked. Ask Dimitri From Paris about remixing for Chic.
Nice, Pe......love your first record player! Cool shout-out to "Popcorn"! At the time, I could never figure out which was the title and which was the band! The DJ would say, "Hot Butter and Popcorn, right here on Houston's KILT-AM!" Or, he might say, "Popcorn with Hot Butter," and I wasn't sure if he was ordering a snack, and again, who the heck was which!
I also enjoyed how you related your struggles with English and how you landed on writing, and with such a varied musical palette! That cardinal's hat looks positively scrumptious! Fun stuff!
It took me a while to find a photo of that record player π Your point about the Popcorn/Hot Butter mix-up made me laugh. As non-native speakers, that joke never really landed here, and Iβm not even sure the version I had was the Hot Butter one. There were plenty of knock-offs around.
Ha! And, the fact that the band was not a known commodity....it was just suddenly song and artist, each with names that usually go together....over here, anyway! Great point about that language divide!

Fully agree Donald! Thanks for reading and wishing you a great start of the week!
This post is fabulous, Peter!!! I am so entertained and will be chuckling for hours. Thank you for sharing!
haha Thanks Todd! Glad you liked it. Thanks for reading.
This was great, I enjoyed getting to know you a little more! That βcardinals hatβ looks divine! Iβll have to try one someday!!
Thanks for reading Mark!

Same here π Thanks for reading & reacting Joe. Enjoy your weekend!
Pe, love this! The Frenchie snoring was a particularly nice touch. Thank you for sharing these insights with us.
Hahaβ¦ Itβs a pity thereβs no βodoramaβ feature, or I couldβve added the other thing theyβre truly specialised in.
I have friends with Frenchies. I am aware. I will pass thanks. My two GSPs are bad enough π€£
